John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has been able to touch many by his lyrics. A lot of them are based on Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born artist and songwriter who fell in love with Colorado. More than a few people traveled through Colorado due to Denver's famous tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame, said: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its initial member in the year 2011. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. When I travel, you are likely to meet people from the other side of the world. For example someone from New Zealand. And when you tell them you're from Colorado the response is "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief stint in small folk bands. Danoff created the track in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver saw an early rendition immediately, he realized the song could be a hit single. The track was released just several weeks after the Washington D.C. performance.
